Ladies of Strength.
Ladies of Strength is an annual female-only novice strongwoman competition hosted in conjunction with Capital Strongman. Entries are open to any person who identifies as female or non-binary.

Ladies of Lifting.
Ladies of Lifting is our annual female-only novice powerlifting competition. Entries are open to any person who identifies as female or non-binary. No federation membership or soft suits are required.

Ladies of Strength event rules

Athletes can choose from the following weights per hand they’d like to attempt on the day- 50kg, 60kg, 70kg or 80kg. This event will run in a rising bar system.
Distance: 10m up + 10m back (drops are allowed)
Time limit: 60 seconds
Start call: “Timekeeper ready? Athlete ready? Go!”
Equipment Allowed: Hard/soft belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk.
Equipment not allowed: Tacky/belt grip, lifting hooks/straps, figure 6 or 8 wrist straps, tacky.
Start Position: Athletes may start with their hands on the Farmer’s handles. On the judge’s signal, they will carry the handles to the 10m line. Once the judge calls “clear,” the athlete will set the handles down, turn around, pick them up again, and carry them back 10m to the finish line. The attempt is complete when the judge gives the final “clear.”
Sliding/dragging of farmers handles is not allowed.
Stop time: Time will stop when the midpoint of both Farmer’s handles crosses the finish line, and the judge calls “clear.” If only one handle crosses, the athlete must lift and move the other handle across the line. If the athlete does not complete the course within the time limit, the distance will be measured from the start line to the midpoint of the Farmer’s handles.

3 attempts to go for a Max Log Press on either an 8inch or 10inch log. athletes will choose their opening weight and the event will run in a rising bar system.
Start call: “The log is loaded for ‘Athletes name’ “
Time limit: 60 seconds with only 2 press attempts
Equipment Allowed: Hard/soft belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk.
Equipment not allowed: Tacky/belt grip, lifting hooks/straps, figure 6 or figure 8 wrist straps, tacky.
Start Position: Athletes may start with their hands on the implement.
Athletes will select their opening weight before the event commences, cannot go down in weight following an unsuccessful attempt.
On completion of each attempt, must advise the nominated helper of the next weight they wish to attempt
Successful lift
The log must be cleaned to the athletes’ shoulders, then pressed, push pressed, push jerked or split jerked overhead to a locked-out position, straight arms and head through, with feet coming back to parallel and stationery.The athlete must wait for the ‘down’ call from the referee before lowering the implement safely and under control down to the pads provided

Athletes will harness up and be provided a guide rope to assist in the pulling the truck.
Distance: 20 metres
Time limit: 60 seconds
Start call: “Timekeeper ready? Athlete ready? Go!”
Equipment Allowed: Hard/soft belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, chalk.
Equipment not allowed: Tacky/belt grip, lifting hooks/straps, figure 6s and 8s.
Other: Climbing shoes and gloves allowed
Start Position: Athletes start harnessed in with the slack pulled out of the harness rope behind them and the guide rope in front, on the judge's signal, the athlete will then pull the truck as far as they can or until they can touch the 20m line with their hand.

Pick your partner and then which stone from the following weights you’d both like to play ping pong with, 35kg, 45kg, 50kg, 60kg, 70kg, 80kg, 90kg.
Height: 1.2m bar
Time limit: 60 seconds
Start call: Timekeeper ready? Athletes ready? Go!
Equipment Allowed: Tacky/belt grip, hard/soft belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, grip shirt.
Equipment not allowed: Lifting hooks/straps, figure 6s and 8s, chalk.
Start Position: Athletes must start with their palms facing upwards and back of wrist/forearms resting on the bar.
Successful lift: On the judge’s signal, the first athlete will lift the Atlas stone over the bar. Once the stone touches the ground on the other side, the second athlete will lift it and return it over the bar to their partner. Both athletes will complete as many repetitions as possible within 60 seconds.
If an athlete needs to tap out, a designated stone catcher may step in to pass the stone back to the remaining athlete.
